Hello CHC Friends,
We are fortunate our kids play the great game of hockey, as it helps them build confidence, grow independence, stay healthy, make friends, and learn valuable lifelong lessons.
We also recognize ice hockey remains out of reach for many, due to financial investment required and the limited availability of rink facilities in comparison to other sports.
The hockey community often says, "Hockey is for everyone," and we aim to prove it here at the Cranford Hockey Club.
This year, we have established a scholarship fund with the goal of getting more kids involved in the sport we love, especially from the hometowns of our home rink, Elizabeth and Roselle, which straddle our home, Warinaco Park.
This year, we hope to sponsor numerous children to join our successful Learn to Play Program which CHC leads with the support of the NJ Devils, and eventually we will provide full- or partial-tuition scholarships plus equipment to kids who would otherwise be unable to participate in the sport that means so much to us and our kids.
You can learn more about the scholarship program here:
If you would like to donate, we will be having our first fundraiser on September 26 at Echo Lake Country Club starting at Noon.
For those of you who don't play golf (like me), there will be a cocktail party and buffet dinner at 6pm which you can attend.
More info about the event in the flyer below as well as this link:
There will be many opportunities to support the scholarship fund either financially or through volunteering, so please reach out to me if you would like to help us make this program a success.
Enjoy the rest of your summer. See you at the rink soon.
